Meet Brian McAlpin, Web Developer at EGC

The new remote workforce that much of the world has adapted to in the last year-and-a-half due to the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a more remote workforce, where employees are able to fulfill their professional tasks from another state. This is the case with Brian McAlpin, who was hired a few months ago to join EGC’s development team. Learn about what Brian has to say about working remotely, the changing trends in digital media practices, and what he looks forward to in 2022.

Brian McAlpine.Employee Spotlight

As EGC’s out-of-state employee, working remotely comes with its innate challenges. What have been the benefits?

The benefits of working remotely are about productivity for me. I enjoy working with everyone, and learn a lot—but an environment where I can support the kind of focus I need, when I need it—greatly benefits my work. They’re both important to me, so it’s a great combination.

Digital media best practices are always changing. What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important for the future of marketing?

My industry and craft are fast moving and critical to master, with so much available to marketers and business developers. In order to be truly consultative, you have to enjoy that change. Contribute and continue to innovate. Have fun. It’s an important part of what we “geek about” and it drives the growth of impactful digital products.

What are you most looking forward to next year?

Professionally, I look forward to another year with EGC—coordinating with others who know things I do not, and orchestrating great digital environments and user experiences together. Our teams offer creative, powerful talent and vision for brand stewardship. It’s bound to be great fun. Personally, I’m hoping for more love of our planet, of each other, and for courage about the changes needed to keep us growing as a people.
