Strategically placed for Halloween, this campaign launched the week of October 6th. The purpose and design were meant to stand out with a creative twist that would raise awareness about battery recycling and safety. Call2Recycle wanted something unexpected and attention-grabbing, so our team leaned into a zombie theme—perfect for this season and the important message. The Creative and Media teams at EGC collaborated on a concept that was both fun and informative. The idea: Batteries aren’t really “dead” just because they stop working. They can still pose a danger if not handled properly. This campaign used humor and timing to make a serious message memorable and relevant. As the call to action reads: “Dead Batteries AREN’T.” This campaign was strategically placed at 415 8th Avenue and 31st Street, where commuters to and from Manhattan will get a Halloween thrill, and the message about recycling batteries.
