Billy Joel Exhibit to Open at Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame!
Ernie Canadeo, EGC Chairman and Founder and Chairman of the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) proudly announces an exhibit to honor the region’s own Billy Joel.
As reported in February, plans for this event have been in motion, and it is happening!
In just under one month, LIMEHOF will host “Billy Joel—My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey,” a celebration of one of Long Island’s greatest musical talents. Visitors will be able to view displays of memorabilia—donated by Billy Joel himself—that include instruments, historic photos, and never-before heard or seen audio and video recordings, among a host of other items.
The exhibit will be staged by designer Kevin O’Callaghan, who put together the inaugural LIMEHOF display—“Long Island’s Legendary Club Scene – 1960s-1980s”—this past December. Both he and Ernie have worked together with Billy Joel on the conception and development of this first-ever exhibit. As Ernie states:
“Billy has been very cordial and involved in the planning, and it is appropriate the exhibit is on Long Island, where he has long been identified, written so many songs and lived most of his life. It is a fitting tribute to Long Island’s most successful entertainer and is guaranteed to thrill his legions of fans.”
In addition to the EGC Group, many organizations have joined to support and sponsor this exhibit, including Catholic Health, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel, The Haugland Group, M&T Bank, Lessing’s Hospitality, and The Joel Foundation.
Tickets to “Billy Joel—My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey,” are now available for purchase on the LIMEHOF website. The exhibit will open on November 24th.
