Favorite Creative and Crafty Halloween Campaigns
Everyone has his or her favorite Halloween traditions. Some people have costume parties, while others decorate their homes to turn them into personalized haunted mansions. (Some do both.) Whatever the custom, there is no denying that Halloween is all about creativity. Two well-known brands have devised what may be some of the best Halloween campaigns. The creativity behind these ads is so good – it’s scary! (There, we said it.)
Company who always gets it right: Burger King
Burger King is one of those companies that can always be counted on for a terrific Halloween campaign. The iconic burger chain usually rolls out a product or promotion during this season – and once again, they did not disappoint. This year, they came out with a Ghost WHOPPER® – only available at 10 select Burger King locations – and posted a video in collaboration with Riz Mirza, who is a self-proclaimed medium and “trance-channel.” In this commercial, a taste test is conducted with living people while Mirza contacted spirits to also have a taste…
Although it is 2019, mention must also be made of how well Burger King also did last year. In 2018, Burger King ran a promotion that was similarly unique. For one night only at a Burger King locale in London, the first 500 people dressed as a clown got a free WHOPPER® sandwich. Burger King took advantage of the number of searches people make around Halloween time involving the query ‘clown’ – and was even able to make a jab at one of their competitors…

Company who went above and beyond this year: GEICO
We all know GEICO to kill it with their usual commercials. Their mascots, after all, are what make this brand GEICO! And for the Halloween season especially, they have come out with several very memorable commercials. They use humor to get your attention – but always bring it back to messaging that ties in with their brand and services. Yes, GEICO has indeed figured out the formula for commercial success. Here are a few of our favorites from the “GEICO 2019 Halloween Campaign.” (We almost can’t wait for what will be released next year!)
Creativity goes a long way, and can be found anywhere
Yes, Burger King and GEICO are well-known and big brands that have the budgets to create what may be regarded as “mini movies” to promote their brands in the Halloween season. But brands of all sizes – big, mid-sized, and small – can take these examples as inspiration to think up and execute campaigns that make a statement and really stand out. Stores and shops can throw in-store Halloween parties or create online one-stop shops that are exclusively devoted to Halloween, among other ideas. The possibilities are endless. Why? Because there is no end to thinking creatively, as demonstrated by the video spots featured above. So, don’t be scared of creativity.
