Bringing Photos to Life with Facebook’s Newest Templates
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. When it comes to social media, a video is worth way more than that. Adding motion to posts or ads is a great way for brands to get noticed within the crowded social media feeds of their customers – which can lead to more clicks and sales. Some advertisers, however, may lack the assets or ability to produce video content for social ads, which leaves them one step behind their competition. That is, until now.
Facebook gets ad imagery moving – literally
Facebook recently announced they are rolling out a new feature that allows advertisers to convert static images to engaging videos within Facebook Ads Manager. They are even offering multiple creative templates to align the layout with a brand’s business objectives, including: “promote a product,” “drive product discovery,” “sell multiple products,” and “show product benefits.” All of these templates feature multiple static images combined with text and image panning to really bring the ad to life. It is also important to note that all videos end with a call to action such as “Learn More” or “Shop Now” to clearly show the user what the advertiser would like them to do next.
Although these templates reference products, an advertiser can also use them to promote a service or its brand as a whole. The beauty of the templates is that you really have the freedom to create a video that works well for your brand, and you can incorporate your choice of high-res visuals or copy to create eye-catching content.
Video on social – good for all advertisers, new and seasoned
If you are not currently using video to stay relevant on social, this is an opportunity to try it out and see what kind of impact this medium can have on your social performance. On the other hand, if you’re a brand that’s already using video assets for social ads, this feature may be an option that can help save time and resources – especially if you’re just looking to switch up your creative or A/B test to see what your audience engages with.
Facebook’s new video templates make it easier than ever for advertisers to use video to optimize ad performance. This will likely allow some social media underdogs to begin moving toward the top of their audience’s social media feeds which can lead to more engagement, clicks, brand awareness and ultimately, sales.
